As the CEO/CFO of the IUTW I’m constantly on the look for new media to improve the lives of everyone. Television whether through broadcast, streaming, or internet services provides a warm open wormhole to fall into. Here are a few of the things I’ve seen lately that I believe are worth a couple of minutes in your day to make you think, laugh, cry, and maybe, be inspired. As we always say at the IUTW…Enjoy your burrito.
After the tragedies of this last week and a half we have seen in Gilroy, El Paso, and Dayton, former VP and presidential candidate Joe Biden talked with Anderson Cooper about dealing with grief.
“Faith sees best in the dark”
The whole interview was great (I’m a fan), but when discussing the best way to deal daily with loss, Biden stated “Faith sees best in the dark”. I had never really thought about it that way, but no statement could be any more true. When life is all sunshine and lollipops, we don’t need faith. We can see the challenges and rewards. Then in an instant life can change. The sunshine and lollipops change to darkness and disease.
That’s when faith gets you through. Without faith all hope is lost. Hold on to the knowledge that the sadness will never leave, but it shapes you into who you are. It makes you stronger. It becomes less frequent, less intense. You gain wisdom, love, and strength. FAITH is the light that shines on the dirt to make life. Even the smallest bit of faith will grow and heal.
Hebrews 11:1 Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
